Second Harvest Food Bank New Orleans

Provide food assistance to low income families and to the elderly.

The Food Bank distributes nutritious food, including more fresh produce than almost any other food bank in the country, through a network of 300 nonprofit partners at 905 sites. Second Harvest is pursuing innovative efforts to increase access to food resources as it seeks to feed an additional 100,000 hungry people each month. To reach more people, it connects those in need to federal nutrition programs and other food resources.

Restore the Louisiana Woodlands! There is no better time than the present to help stop the loss of coastal wetland forests. These forests serve as a natural sponge to absorb storm water run-off, provide a wind buffer to protect our homes and businesses, and serve as a habitat corridor for resident wildlife and migratory birds. It is important that we preserve and protect our remaining forested wetland for future generations. Woodlands Conservancy offers a variety of educational field trips designed for K-12 students and scout groups.
